Rebecca Taylor is an independent crisis communications and public relations professional with more than 20 years of experience in internal and external communications strategy and rapid response for effective reputation management. Her specialties include incident response, change management, organizational development, and strategic communications designed to drive business objectives in alignment with an organization’s mission and values. She also has deep experience facilitating executive communications as a thought partner, advisor, and ghostwriter.

A former journalist with a Master of Science degree from the Columbia University Graduate School of Journalism, Rebecca has designed and executed strategic communications in the healthcare, manufacturing, academic publishing, higher education, human resources, management consulting, and organizational development fields. She has worked with public, private, for-profit, and not-for-profit organizations to achieve their communications goals, and has managed high-profile crisis communications and incident response teams to protect the reputations and operational integrity of a number of organizations, their executives, and their employees.

Rebecca is the owner and principal of Rebecca Taylor Communications LLC, a strategic communications consulting firm based in Oregon with clients across the country. She earned her bachelor’s degree from the University of California, Davis, and is an occasional instructor of strategic communications at the University of Oregon School of Journalism and Communication. Certified in group facilitation and consensus-building by the Institute of Cultural Affairs, she is a member of the Public Relations Society of America, past digital chair for Healthcare Communicators of Oregon, and has served on the boards of several local organizations. She lives in Eugene, Ore., with her husband and daughter and enjoys travel, scuba diving, yoga, skiing, reading, cooking, and tending her flock of backyard chickens.
